Welcome to the Center for Policy Informatics

Decision makers and policy analysts face a constant influx of information and conflicting interests. There is a growing need to effectively navigate the vast amounts of information to identify patterns, build justifications, ensure transparency, and account for real uncertainty and risk. Many policy-related research, such as determining alternatives and monitoring consequences have been pivotal in maintaining sustainable localities in this rapidly changing and diverse environment. If we can extract the useful patterns of complex policy landscapes, policy debates can be much more informed and inclusive, thus yielding more widely-accepted decisions that will thoughtfully guide the future of the community.
